The headline could be “Consumers have had their feelings hurt” or “Consumers don’t have faith in thare losing the faith”. One thing we will never see of course is “Consumers becoming more rational”. We don’t even want to tease about the consumer wising up and becoming more adult-like, we prefer them to be child-like and anti-thought. How else will we be able to convince them that frivilous spending that buries them in useless debt is not only an option, but almost nearly their patriotic duty?
