We live in an elemental world of luminosity (colour) and order (be that horizons, skies and plains —horizontals—or mountains and trees). Inviting us to contemplation of what is already there but cluttered and veiled by too much information, Martin’s works are classics of a non-gestural, non-expressionistic abstraction.
