 | Most likely the best-known French female singer of all time, born Edith Giovanna Gassion in 1915 in Belleville, Paris. A total of 12 songs, including e.g. "La Foule, "Marie la Francaise", "Si, si, si " (with Eddie Constantine), "A quoi ca sert l'amou´r" (with Théo Sarapo), "La vie, l'amour", "Toujours aimer" and "Le petit brouillard". German mono issue from the mid 60s, I should think.
