Red labels with black semicircle above the centre hole. Curved white Columbia logo at top, with circular "magic notes" one below. Black label reading "Do not play this side" on SAXS 2430/side B.Laminated (> front only) flipback single covers. One small dirt stain on back on SAXS 2430. Tiny top seam scuff on SAX 2431. Same front cover design on each album.

SAXS 2430: A few light surface marks on side A, don't affect play. Side B is blank. SAX 2431: A few light needle marks on each side (mainly in the beginning of side B), causing some light clicks. Plays otherwise juts great.

Brahms' largest work which made him an international name, written for an orchestra, chorus and two soloists. Otto Klemperer's legendary 1962 version with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. A set of two separate albums. 2nd stereo pressing, issued also on mono as 33 CXS 1781 and 33 CX 1782.
