A highly important American jazz pianist, organist, composer and bandleader, born William Basie in 1904 in Red Bank, New Jersey. Recorded live at the Tropicana Hotel, Las Vegas. A total of 13 tracks, including e.g. "Down for Double", "Broadway", "Jive at Five", "Jumpin' at the Woodside", "Shiny Stockings", "Blue and Sentimental", "The Kid from Red Bank" and two versions of "One O'Clock Jump".
