| A highly important American jazz pianist, organist, composer and bandleader, born William Basie in 1904 in Red Bank, New Jersey. A total of 12 tracks recorded all in 1952, eight of them being released originally in 1954 on "Basie Jazz", Cleff MGC-633 and reissued in 1956 on "Basie Rides Again!", Cleff MGC-729. Late 1970s / early 1980s French Verve's Cleff Series reissue.
