 | An internationally acclaimed Austrian singer and actress, born Karoline Wilhelmine Charlotte Blamauer in Vienna in 1898. Best known for her role as Jenny in Kurt Weill's (Lenya married him in 1926) and Bertold Brecht's "The Threepenny Orchestra"... and as Rosa Klebb in the 1963 James Bond movie "From Russia with Love"... A rare German language album of Weill's songs, recorded in July 1955 while Lenya was visiting West Germany for the first time since 1934. Released in November 1955 in USA as "Lotte Lenya Sings Berlin Theater Songs of Kurt Weill", Columbia ML 5056. Reissued in the early 1960's as CBS 62348. Mono.
